Complete Story Summary
(গল্পের সম্পূর্ণ সারাংশ)
The story revolves around a lad named Jon who dreams of becoming a sailor, but his mother refuses to let him go to sea. One day, while ploughing the field, Jon finds a tiny green turtle. He saves it from the plough and puts it safely on his head. To his surprise, the turtle turns into a tiny green fairy man who grants him a wish in return for his kindness.
Jon asks for a cap that brings wind, which sailors love. The fairy man gives him a striped cap but warns him: “No human hand will ever be able to take it off.” Jon leaves home and becomes a very popular sailor because he can summon wind from any direction. However, the condition that he cannot remove the cap becomes a problem.
One day, after a long voyage, Jon falls fast asleep. In his dream, the seasons change rapidly, causing him to twist and turn. The cap twists on his head, summoning a violent squall (storm) that nearly destroys the ship. The angry captain pulls the cap off Jon’s head, and the power is lost. In the end, Jon learns to rely on his own skills rather than magic and becomes a successful captain.
