Story Summary: Father’s Help (Unit III)
English Summary
In Unit 3, Swami enters the school with a plan. He decides to deliver the letter to the headmaster at the end of the day, hoping Samuel will do something angry to justify the complaints. However, Samuel behaves surprisingly well. He is gentle, even when Swami is late and hasn’t done his homework. Swami feels guilty and calls Samuel a “poor man” in his mind.
At 4:30 P.M., Swami rushes to the headmaster’s room, but finds it locked. The peon informs him that the headmaster is on a week’s leave. Swami returns home with the letter. His father, seeing him, gets angry. He snatches the letter, tears it up, and tells Swami that he deserves a teacher like Samuel.

(Bengali Summary)
